IGN: The cool thing about that is that few rappers have been that lucky. Basically I was tryin' to get it crackin' any which way I could. Definitely doing features and stuff like that helped me to stay out there. But you've kept rising like a phoenix over the years. I mean you burst out as Tung Twista, then you were the fastest rapper in the world and gained all this fame and notoriety, then you kind of disappeared. Every few years I kept getting' to crackin', so man, they can't hold me down. So you always just come up with somethin' every now and then that the public just wants to hear.

I mean it's just constantly working hard and constantly loving to do music and constantly being creative. But you've always managed to stay in the game, reinvent yourself and stay relevant.

Then you kind of disappeared from the scene. IGN: One of the things that trips me out is that you were literally the first artist on Loud Records back in 1991. I'm constantly tryin' to be in the public's face, constantly doin' shows. I mean my thing is that I do all types of work, though, not just being in the studio. Twista: Man! I mean I spoke with Lil' Flip recently and he said that he tries to go into the studio every day and lay down 10 tracks. It sounds like you enjoy keeping busy, right? Twista: Oh yeah, man. IGN: You've been touring and holing up in the studio a lot lately. IGN: What's happening man? Twista: I'm chillin', I'm chillin'. caught up with Twista during a rare bout of down time and talked to the rapper about his career highs and lows. He again took a hiatus from 1999 until the beginning of 2004, when he rose yet again with his third official solo album, Kamikaze. Twista kept himself busy and in the public eye by dropping high profile guest shots on joints by Puff Daddy, Jay-Z, Nas, and others, as well as kicking up production for a number of folks. Tung" from his name and re-emerged as Twista with his sophomore album, Adrenaline. After a more than six year hiatus, he dropped the "Mr. Then the Chi-town rapper literally fell off the face of the earth, disappearing to that unknown nether region where all fallen rappers eventually find themselves. Twista subsequently logged into the Guinness Book of World Records as the Fastest Rapper In The World. His subsequent album, Runnin' Off At Da Mouth was appropriately titled, as it showcased his Barry Allen-styled wordplay. Tung Twista" was a glorious exercise in speed demon emceeing and his lightning tongued utterances were accompanied by over-the-top artwork that featured a crazed madball with a lolling tongue.
